The Pats Cup Pledge
The Pats Cup 2009 hosted hundreds of teams. These teams considered the Pats Cup a resounding success. “Great competition”, “great fields”, “well run”, “fun”, “outstanding trophies”, and an “absolutely outrageous registration party” were just some of the compliments that were expressed by the participants.
It appears that all of you who participated remember the good times from last year. Your numerous early requests for our 2010 applications have been most gratifying. Thank you!
For those of you who are new to the Pats Cup, we would like to take this opportunity to familiarize you with the Pats Cup philosophy and pledge.
The Pats Cup is one of the new breed of tournaments that is designed to provide excellent competition while remembering that soccer is a family affair and must be enjoyed by players, families and spectators alike. To this end, the Pat Cup Committee is dedicated to developing our tournament into the finest family youth sporting event in the United States.
To date, before this site even came on line, the Cup Committee has received inquires from more than 6 other states including Hawaii, Washington and some from the New England area with many teams requesting applications. It is expected that our U13 to U19 brackets will have at least 2 to 3 teams from out of state in them.
All of the above is in addition to our fine competitive teams right here in Southern California. No one can argue that some of America’s finest teams (in fact, some of the World’s finest teams) originate right here locally. In addition, last year, the Pats Cup hosted many great teams from Northern California who definitely came down to play. We look forward to hosting them again this year.
The competition in the Pats Cup will be a great experience for all participating players. But the Pats Committee is also determined to make the Pats Cup a social event for the family as well as a great time for all who attend.
The Irvine Spectrum, Fashion Island, Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Huntington Beach, Balboa Island, South Coast Plaza and many, many more tourist attractions are all within from 10 to 15 minutes driving time depending upon which of our host hotels you have elected to stay at.
The Pats Cup host hotels are some of the finest hotels that Orange County, California has to offer. Those of you who attended our “check in” last year at one of our host hotels, you will remember the great reception at the lake, the band and the food provided to all who attended as well as the good time had by all. Our “check in” is a true social event so please plan to stay for a while and visit with everyone, even after you have completed your registration process.
If you elect to play in the Pats Cup, we, The Pats Cup Tournament Committee, make this pledge to you:
“We will do everything possible to hold a well organized and run competitive tournament that is enjoyable for players and family members alike and to always keep in mind that it is our responsibility to serve you, our customer, above all other interests, including our own.”
